The Rotowent Dragon chimney cowl is a device, which, in a dynamic way, uses the force of the wind to increase chimney draught, and prevent downdraught. The cap always places itself in the opposite direction to the wind no matter of its strength or direction. It can be mounted on gravitation based chimney ducts, ventilation, flue and smoke.
The special patented rotating system has ball bearings, which are uniquely placed outside of the cap, enabling the Dragon to withstand temperatures up to a massive 500°C.
This high working temperature enables the Dragon to be used on wood burning stoves, even on short bungalow chimneys.
Please note that the Dragon Cowl is not suitable for use when appliances are used for slumbering solid fuels (smokeless) and coal.
The literature that comes with the Dragon cowl states that the cowl is supplied with 2 fins. This is incorrect. The cowl is supplied with just one fin, the wind, as shown in the images.

Dragon Revolving Cowl Brochure
Great Design Nothing can touch the Dragon when it comes to temperature. The bearing is on the top of the cowl, away from soot and high temperature fumes, so it can withstand a massive 500°C. It doesn't revolve, but it positions itself with the opening in the opposite direction from prevailing winds.

only just purchased but looking good. have only installed the dragon a few weeks but very satisfied to date. it looks great & works well but time will tell.
Solves the smoke problem! Thought this was expensive, but now it's installed worth every penny. We have a short chimney, have strong coastal winds and often suffered from smoke in the room, now we don't even smell smoke when lighting the fire or when putting more wood on!
Highly recommend (our Knight in Shining Armour!)

The answer to all smoke filled homes Living in bungalow with maximum flue height of 4.5 Metres only added to my problem! Now my newly installed: Dragon Force- in base 200mm swivel cowl has transformed our lives at home. Even in the slightest of breezes “The Dragon” is there adjusting its position for the best performance. Worth every penny, all I can say is it’s changed our lives. We were considering getting rid of the solid fuel stove due to the health risk; but now we are happy and have since decided we will keep the stove. Very happy with the Dragon you have to own one to appreciate what it can do.

Excellent. Far better than a rotovent that we had previously, which blew apart in high winds (twice). Seems to give equivalent draft in the flue, keeps out the rain, and is far less prone to damage. Very easy to fit. It just slotted in to the chimney pot.
Fantastic result Have had solid fuel Rayburn for years into SS flue that ends well below ridge. Wind from North / East meant house full of fumes. Have tried spinning cowels etc - no success. Tried the Dragon and have had strong winds from all directions since -absolutely perfect! Rayburn burns fuel better too!

I fitted a solid fuel stove in 2013 and was having terrible trouble with a bad draught in the flu plus a whistling noise, I tried several different chimney cowls but since fitting a dragon force in base 200mm it has changed my stove completely,I would have no hesitation in recommending this product

Stopped blowback Bought after high winds caused smoke back down the chimney and it has worked. I needed to make vertical cuts up the base to allow it to fit the pot and along with a blo ck of wood and lump hammer it made a tight fit. It is working well.

very easy to fit My Dragon Force in Base 200mm arrived when they said it would. It took longer to unpack and assemble than to fit. It swivels very easy with the slightest wind. My only concern is will birds enter it looking for a nesting site?
