The C-Cap is a revolutionary design of chimney cap which helps minimise heat loss from disused chimney flues. It provides 100% protection of the flue against rain, hail, snow, nesting birds, leaves etc. - protecting it from damage while still allowing ventilation of the flue.

C-Cap is exceptionally easy to fit. It is simply pushed into any round chimney pot up to 11 inches (280mm) external diameter, and held securely in place by two spring wires.

C-Cap blends attractively with the profile of the existing chimney.

The volume of air drawn through a standard ventilator in a blocked up fireplace and escaping to the atmosphere is reduced by 70% when C-Cap is fitted. With a hit-and-miss ventilator, the reduction can be more than 90%.

The C-Cap is supplied inclusive of an 'insect barrier'. This feature is unique to the C-Cap and is designed to prevent access by swarming bees, nesting wasps etc. It is optional whether the insect barrier is included during fitting.

The C-Cap fits any round chimney pot up to 11 inches (280mm) external diameter.

Technical
The C-Cap is a robust, high quality product manufactured from ASA plastic and is designed to fit any standard design round chimney pot, up to 280mm external diameter.

Fitting (or removal) is simple and takes seconds, requiring no special skills. However, gaining access to pots should only be undertaken by a suitably experienced person using appropriate access equipment.

Pots need to be in sound condition. Any cracked pot should either be replaced or suitably bound to accept lateral pressure from the retaining spring wires.

The cap is for use on redundant, disused flues only. Care needs to be taken that capping is not carried out to any flue that is still in use. Check it first!

As with any capping, the flue should preferably be swept clean and any obstruction (e.g. bird's nests) removed.

C-Cap has been successfully site-tested in severe gale conditions from Cornwall to the Orkneys.

The spring wires that retain the C-Cap on the pot are fully galvanised and are fixed by an alloy clamp and stainless steel self-tapping screws.

Suitability
Please note the C-Cap is suitable for round standard chimney pots only, if fitted to a crown type pot they will be ineffective and may come loose.

Subject to the C-Cap having been used with due care and solely for its intended purpose, should it fail through any manufacturing deficiency during the guarantee period, it will be replaced or its cost refunded to you (at the manufacturer’s discretion).

While the material from which the C-Cap is manufactured is highly uv resistant and is specifically designed for outdoor applications, this guarantee does not cover the possibility of some eventual discolouration by sunlight.

Any refund or replacement will only be issued following return of the cowl to us, or to the manufacturer, for inspection.

The King of Disused Chimney Caps  The most popular disused chimney cap by a mile. We sell 1000's of them, and for good reason. Rock solid construction, made from Styrosun, they are almost indestructable. We tried smashing one once with a hammer to see if it would break. It did in the end, but only with a massive hit! Recommended.   (06/05/2011) fluesystems.com - High Wycombe

Excellent product, value for money and easy to fit. Does the job and we would recommend the C-Cap.   (10/05/2011) -

Just the job  A quick fix solution to capping off with the added facility of maintaining ventilation which comes complete with an insect barrier. Less than 2 minutes to fix in situ - can't get better than that !   (10/05/2011) -

C-Cap - Terracotta  Dose what it says on the tin, very easy to fit(in mins).they look great   (25/05/2011) Denis - Cheshire

Product seems simple to install and the price is realistic compared to other suppliers who wanted more for similar caps which required much more by way of installation skills. Seems to be a straightforward produce at a straightforward price.   (01/06/2011) Elizabeth Brookes - Inverclyde

Good Quality Fits with Ease  Proper ventilated cap, keeps out the bugs and the weather, stops the damp buidling up. Quite simple to fit, especially when working at height, certainly low risk fits in seconds. Well designed reasonably priced.   (14/07/2011) Andy C - Hampshire

Cost effective capping  Ordered 4 of these and found a roofer who put them up in 5 mins for £70, far better than the next cheapest option which were a range of cowboys with solutions for £250+++, and he fixed a leaky gutter while up there, a clean simple great design product.   (03/08/2011) BradMcA - London

Aesthetic, effective, simple to install  Don't usually write reviews but I was unusually impressed by the clear webpage, speedy delivery, look of the cap and the simplicity of installation once I got someone younger than my 67 years to nip up onto the roof for two minutes(cost to me £10)   (03/08/2011) Simon Harrison-Bishop - Holsworthy,Devon
