The revolutionary design of the Windkat chimney cowl utilises advanced injection nozzles to provide optimum even draw whatever the weather.

Windkat is designed to eliminate downdraught and increase draw. However, what truly distinguishes Windkat from other cowls is its ability to maintain optimum and constant draw even in severe weather conditions and difficult locations. This optimised airflow means cleaner and more efficient combustion in your fireplace providing fuel saving and pollution reduction.

Specification
Anti downdraught (without the worry of moving parts)
Regulates draw (maintains an even airflow in high or low winds)
Provides optimum burning conditions (increased efficiency and reduced pollution)
Acts as a rain and bird guard
Easy fixing to your chimney pot or twin wall flue without the need for cement
Use this version on appliances fired solid fuel or oil. Also suited for ventilation purposes
Easy installation and a hinged top for easy access makes the Windkat a firm favourite with chimney sweeps
Made from high grade stainless steel with no moving parts to wear out
10 year warranty

Approvals
Complies with all British, European and German Standards

The Windkat cowl has been solving chimney problems in Germany for over 10 years. It is recommended by the German Chimney Sweeps Association and has been rigorously tested by the TUV (technical control board), Thuringen National Institute for the environment, Technical University of Munich, Bavarian Environmental Agency, Martin-Luther University Halle and the Technical university of Dresden. It complies with the European norm 13384-1 as well as the DIN norm 18160 and the demands of the FeuVO.

Choosing Windkat Extras if you need them

Wire Mesh for Gas Fires
If the flue to which the Windkat is to be fitted serves a Gas appliance, then by UK law, wire mesh must be added to cover the cowl opening. This optional Extra can only be ordered with the Windkat (not possible to retro fit).

Flexible liner suspending modification
We also offer an optional extra enabling the Windkat to be used as a flexible liner suspending cowl. The size of cowl will then need to be chosen to fit inside the flexible liner rather than the pot.

Choosing a Windkat Colour
Most customers choose Windkat in its standard stainless steel form, however we can powder coat our products in 3 standards colours (black, terracotta, anthracite).

Great product  Fitted this cowl as I had downdraught problems. It has solved the problem, even works in high winds   (08/02/2016) Philip Noyes - Dorset

Windkat wonder!  On the advice of my chimney sweep I decided to invest in a new cowl. The down draft problems that I was experiencing are now a thing of the past since having my windkat fitted. Early days lighting my Morso but already I've noticed the difference - the draw is definitely improved.   (08/02/2016) Mrs Myers - Kent

Excellent Cowl  A great cowl if you are suffering both anti-down draft and drawing problems. This cowl solved both for us! Delivery was super quick too! thank you!   (10/03/2016) jo - Derbyshire

WindKat  Bought this as a replacement for a failed rotory type cowl. We are on the top of hill in a rural location, and therefor suffer some howling winds.Over a period of time we have experienced some quite severe downdraught issues.Since installing the Windkat the problem seems to have been resolved.Great   (13/01/2017) Jim - South West Scotland

Help desk offered sound advice, delivery was spot on - next day. Installation was a doddle into a twin wall flue using heat proof sealant. Product looks like it will do the job but as yet untested as fitted in July so no log burner lit yet.   (06/07/2018) -
