Description
Multi fuel chimney liner is used for relining masonry chimney stacks. It has a twin skin construction, the outer being deeply corrugated, whilst the inner is smooth bore. Use this chimney liner for:-

  • Wood burning stove installations

  • Multi fuel stove installations

  • Open fires (see also gather hoods)

Multi fuel chimney liner can also be used on gas fired installations, which then allows for the option of changing the appliance to multi fuel in the future.

Multi Fuel Chimney Liner

Multi fuel chimney liner has the following features:-

  • Deeply corrugated BS 1449 stainless steel is manufactured into a twin wall flue liner, combining great strength with flexibility.

  • The inner layer is smooth to discourage the build up of soot and other potentially corrosive
residues and to encourage the unimpaired flow of flue gasses

  • Outer corrugated layer provides a protective casing during the installation process and
after installation it helps protect the inner layer from corrosion due to attack by residual
    deposits

  • Inner and outer layers are joined by the triple lock joint system, acknowledged to be the best jointing system available

  • Independently tested and passed BSRIA Type Test Cert No:- 14406/1

  • Complies with the requirements of Building Regulations Part J. Download the regulations and view the highlights regarding chimney liner here

  • Approved by HETAS, the official body recognised by government to approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services.

  • EN product designation number:- EN1856-2-T450-N1-D-VML20011-0

Chimney Liner Components
Our range of chimney liner components is second to none. For instance, we offer 4 different models of chimney liner suspending cowl, more than any other.

Chimney Liner Cowls - The simplest way to install your liner at the top end is with a suspending cowl. One item is all you'll need. We have 4 different models available in two finishes, select just the one you require. Top left is the suspending cowl, top right the maxi suspending cowl, bottom left is the anti downdraught suspending cowl, and bottom right is the square base suspending cowl (330mm x 330mm base).

Chimney Liner Install Pack, Pot Removal - Consists of a closure plate, top clamp, top sleeve, and a Midtec Maxi chimney cowl. Use this pack where you intend to remove the chimney pot, install the liner, then replace the chimney pot after installation. The Midtec Maxi cowl will offer protection from the wind and rain, as guards against downdraught.

Chimney Liner Install Pack, No Chimney Pot - Consists of a closure plate, top clamp, top sleeve, and standard cowl clamped. Use this pack where you do not intend using a chimney pot at all.

Chimney Liner Bottom Install Pack - Two options here. Option 1 consists of a register plate and a register plate adaptor. Together they will give you the connections you require. If you have your own register plate, then simple use an adaptor liner to pipe. The bottom support bracket supports the liner at the base of the stack.

Chimney Liner Insulation - There are two options for insulating your chimney liner. For larger stacks, use liner insulation jackets, and seal the joint with aluminium foil tape. For smaller stacks, use micafil (vermiculite) as a cement mix.

Chimney Liner Sundries Install Pack - Consists of a nose cone, silver cloth duct tape for attaching it to the liner, fire cement or ceramix for sealing your liner and stove pipe (we recommend Ceramix), and a notice plate and pen which is required by building regulations.

Guarantee
316/316 grade multi fuel chimney liner is guaranteed for 10 years. 316/904 grade and 904/904 grade multi fuel chimney liners are guaranteed for 20 years (replacement of product only). This guarantee is subject to the following conditions:-

The appliance must be operating normally, set correctly, and using only good quality fuels from the specified list. The guarantee is not valid if refuse or any type of plastic is burnt, or if the appliance is located where any substance containing Chlorine or Fluorine can be drawn into the air intake.

User Instructions
Our Multi Fuel Chimney Liner is constructed using high grade, BS1449 quality assured stainless steel. With care and correct use it will provide many years of safe, and reliable service - But it is important that you read and follow these instructions fully.

  • DO burn the correct fuel for the appliance

  • DO burn "seasoned", dry wood - that is split logs which have been stacked for 12-24 months under cover outside allowing a free circulation of fresh air.

  • DO NOT burn any of the following: Wet or "Green" wood, painted or treated timber, household refuse, petrochemical by-product coal substitute. These can create soot deposits and gasses which are toxic and will corrode the chimney liner.

  • DO sweep the chimney at least twice a year, more often may be necessary depending upon the fuel and use. Instruct the chimney sweep that only a bristle brush of the correct diameter should be used on rods - not a ball and brush

  • DO avoid chimney fires. The extreme temperatures involved can damage the liner.

  • DO NOT allow fires to "slumber". This produces corrosive condensation in the flue and increases the chance of chimney fires. This is particularly important for closed appliances.
